1. What data we collect why and how

Non-registered users

You may use our website without registering and without entering any personal data such as your name, postal address or email address. The content management system of our website then automatically records and anonymizes certain technical visitor information in cookies so that the functionality of the website is guaranteed. This information is deleted once you have left our website. More information on cookies can be found below.

Cookies
In order to assess how popular certain subject areas are and to design our offering as user-friendly as possible, we use cookies. Cookies are small files which are stored and which enable the analysis of your user behaviour, the measurement of reach and the optimization of our offer. Hence, in the case of services requiring registration, you do not need to re-register each time you return to the site. These text files do not contain any personal data.
You can disable the use of cookies by corresponding browser settings. This, however, might affect the functionality of our offerings. Access to areas that require registration is only possible if cookies are activated.
For statistical purposes and product optimization, we use the web analytics service offered by Google Analytics. In principal, no personal data are collected to this end. However, should this be necessary, only the minimum amount of information required for the performance of the task shall be transmitted. Please find the explanations thereon below.

On our website, we use the web analytics service of Google Analytics offered by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics uses cookies which are stored on your device and which facilitate an analysis of your usage behaviour. The information generated thereby is usually transmitted to a Google server in the US and stored there. You can  prevent storage of these cookies by corresponding settings of your web browser. If you want to prevent collection of the data generated by the cookie and referring to your  user behaviour (including your IP address), you can install the web browser plug-in available under the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en-GB

In principle, these providers have at least the possibility to recognize the origin of your visit. We cannot influence the recording and processing of the data of these providers. Further information can generally be found  in the data protection notices of the respective provider:

Registered users of offers relating to information and events

The use of certain offerings on our website – such as the receipt of the newsletter, informational mailings, contributions to blogs or web-based registrations to our events – requires that you enter identification data relating to the specific purpose of the respective offer.
