On Looren Day we open our doors to all visitors, and invite you to the event We write and we play, that’s how we are / Pišemo i sviramo, dakle postojimo. Bosnian writer Amir Sarvan and accordionist Nermin Tulić will be in conversation with Ivna Žic on the ties between literature and music in Bosnia, linguistic characteristics of Bosnian and the cultural significance of Bosnia’s Sevdalinka songs. The actress Rula Badeen will read Sarvan’s work in Jelica Popović’s German translation.
A bilingual Bosnian-German reading with conversation and music, staged by Zarina Tadjibaeva. We look forward to seeing you!

The event is part of our Texts without Borders series and is free of charge. The number of participants is limited.

Parking spaces are available at Wernetshausen School. There are no parking spaces at Translation House Looren.
Amir Sarvan was born in Modriča in the north of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1968 and attended school there. He studied at the Electrotechnical Faculty in Banja Luka, completing his degree in electrical engineering at Bern HTL in Switzerland. He has published four books in Bosnia and lives with his family in Bern.
Nermin Tulić was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1977. From 1992 he lived in the Netherlands and then Germany; he has been living and working in Bern since 2015. He is a musician and accordion teacher (baroque, avantgarde and world music). Alongside solo concerts, he plays chamber music in various groups and composes and arranges pieces performed with other musicians and as a soloist.
Tekstovi bez granica: Pišemo i sviramo, dakle postojimo
Povodom dana kuće za prevodioce Looren otvaramo vrata našim posjetiocima i posjetiteljicama. Pozivamo Vas na književni događaj pod naslovom „Pišemo i sviramo, dakle postojimo“ u okviru projekta „Tekstovi bez granica“. Bosanski autor Amir Sarvan i harmonikaš Nermin Tulić razgovaraju sa Ivnom Žic o spoju književnosti i muzike u Bosni, o posebnostima bosanskog jezika i o značaju bosanske sevdalinke. Glumica Rula Badeen će čitati Sarvanove tekstove na njemačkom jeziku u prevodu Jelice Popović. Dvojezično bosansko-njemačko čitanje uz razgovor i muziku, scenski sprovedeno od Zarine Tađibajeve.
Kratke biografije učesnika
Amir Sarvan je rođen 1968 u Modriči, gdje je završio osnovnu i srednju školu. Studirao je na Elektrotehničkom fakultetu u Banjaluci, studiji je završio 1997 na Ingenieurschule Bern HTL u Švicarskoj. U Bosni je izdao četiri knjige, Amir Sarvan živi sa porodicom u Bernu.
Nermin Tulić je rođen 1977 u Bosni. Od 1992 je živio u Holandiji i Njemačkoj a 2015 je došao u Švicersku, živi i radi u Bernu. Akademski je muzičar i predaje harmoniku (barok, avantgardu i World music). Pored solo-koncerata svira i kamernu muziku u raznim sastavima, komponuje i aranžira muzička djela, koja izvodi sa različitim muzičarima.
