Babel è il festival letterario centrato sulla traduzione e si terrà quest’anno dal 16 al 20 settembre. Siete traduttrici o traduttori all’inizio della carriera o desiderate saperne di più sulla traduzione letteraria? Partecipate a uno dei laboratori di traduzione da diverse lingue verso l’italiano o visitate uno dei molti eventi.
Spazio alle nuove voci!
Nell’ambito del Babel Festival, domenica 20 settembre alle 12.30, si terrà l’incontro Spazio alle nuove voci! con l’autrice Sarah Elena Müller. La traduttrice letteraria Margherita Carbonaro modererà la conversazione sul potere delle parole e sul loro ruolo nell’elaborazione del passato.

The blue sky is the same, boundless.
Usama Al Shahmani is known in literary circles as a prose writer who writes in German. Far from everyone is aware, however, that he also writes poetry in Arabic and works as a literary translator (of authors including Jürgen Habermas and Friedrich Schleiermacher). At Loorentag, he will present a selection of his Arabic poems and discuss the process he goes through when translating his own poetry into German. The musician and composer Saif Al-Khayyat will provide musical accompaniment on the oud for the Arabic-German reading, whilst Zorka Ciklaminy will moderate the discussion.
