Ergin Öpengin is a literary translator from French, English and Turkish into Kurmanji. His published translations include works by Mark Twain, Arthur Rimbaud, Alain-G. Gagnon, Arshak Safrastian and Kerim Yildiz. He has published numerous articles on the status of Kurdish and its dialects and works as a university lecturer in applied linguistics in Erbil. At Translation House Looren, he will work on a translation of Ágota Kristóf’s Le grand Cahier into Kurdish. He has been awarded a Looren excellence grant for the project.

Latica Bilopavlović Vuković studied German and French literature in Zagreb and Mainz and has been a literary translator since 2002. She also works as an interpreter. Latica Bilopavlović Vuković translates mainly contemporary German-language and French literature into Serbo-Croat, including works by Robert Menasse, Daniel Kehlmann, Juli Zeh and Swiss writers such as Max Frisch, Ilma Rakuša and Peter Stamm. At Translation House Looren, she will work on Nelio Biedermann’s novel Lázár, for which she has been awarded an excellence grant.
