Vitor Alevato do Amaral from Rio de Janeiro is a lecturer on anglophone literature, translates predominantly texts by and on James Joyce, and is the co-head of the ‘Joyce Studies in Brazil’ research group. In February 2020 he worked at Translation House Looren on the translation of James Joyce’s juvenilia and occasional poems into Portuguese.

Akram Pedramnia is a Canadian writer and translator from Iran. Her translations into Persian include Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita, along with works by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Colm Tóibín, Noam Chomsky and Naomi Klein, and she has published four novels of her own. During her stay at Translation House Looren in May 2021, she will be working on translating James Joyce’s Ulysses into Persian.
