Elmar Tophoven Mobility Fund

Lisa Wegener was born 1982 and lives in Berlin. She translates mainly plays from English, Dutch and French into German, such as, amongst others, works by Marie Henry, Ella Hickson, and Peter Brook. From 4 to 20 September, she will be at Translation House Looren working on translating Habiter la frontière/L’Impératif transgressif (selected essays) by Léonora Mianos into German. Her stay is supported by a scholarship from the Elmar Tophoven Mobility Fund of the DVA Foundation an the Deutscher Übersetzerfonds.

Charlotte Bomy, born 1978, lives in Berlin and translates theatre from German into French, including plays by Maxi Obexer, Sasha Marianna Salzmann. From 14 April – 4 May 2019 she will be working at Translation House Looren on her French translation of Darja Stocker’s Nirgends in Friede. Antigone. Her residency is funded by the Elmar Tophoven Mobility Fund, awarded by the DVA Stiftung and the Deutsche Übersetzerfonds.

Barbara Fontaine born in Paris 1968, is a professional German-French translator. She has translated literary works such as, amongst others, Hans-Ulrich Treichel, Katja Lange-Müller, Ursula Krechel. 2008 she received the André Gide Award for the French translation of Ein unsichtbares Land by Stephan Wackwitz. She is currently working on the translation of Die Letzten by Katja Lange-Müller into French. Her stay is financed by a scholarship from the Elmar-Tophoven-Mobility-Fund of the DVA Foundation and the Deutscher Übersetzerfonds.
